Poro maintains winning streak

first_imgThis time the defending champions hammered tail enders Blue Kumuls 5-nil in what was a one-sided affair.Poro again demonstrated what a champion side is with skillful defense and attack, resulting in what could have been more goals, but credit must go to young goal keeper Ismael Thai who saved several definite goals. The boys from Bumbu Barracks had opportunities to score with striker Colin Rimbao kept at bay by Poro’s strong backline.A good footwork by Troy Gunemba, back from a two-week suspension, to Obed Dika, saw Poro opening their goal tally in the 14th minute.Fifteen minutes later, Peter Dabinyaba Jr scored to extend their lead to 2-nil at half time.Again the boys in blue allowed complacency in the second when they were showing signs of a strong comeback in the second half.Poro meant business and showed no mercy in the final half with three goals to consolidate their win as they are currently running fourth on the competition ladder. The remaining games before the finals series start early next month. The boys in white must win all their games as the top ladder is open and is anybody’s race between leaders City United, Bumayong United, Zilu Scientific West and newcomers Eriku Wawens.CAPTION: Blue Kumuls Robert Daba (blue) dribbles the ball as a Poro player comes in to attack in yesterday’s (Sunday) LFA men’s A league competition.
