Christine Bernstein Files For School Board District 3 (Aspen) Seat

first_imgChristine Bernstein filed for the District 3 (Aspen) seat on the Los Alamos School Board today at the County Municipal Building. Bernstein was the final candidate to file before the 5 p.m. deadline. ‘I’m a teacher and I’ve wanted to be part of the decision making about my profession for 15 years!’ Bernstein said. ‘Now is the time!’ Bernstein teaches high school Spanish in Pojoaque. ‘Now that I’m not teaching in a district I live in, I can run and still be in the classroom,’ she said. ‘The faces I see at school every day ARE education. I know what goes on in a classroom because I’m in it.’ Bernstein wants to advocate for innovation that will bring students into the future, she said, adding that she also wants to be a voice for middle school students. ‘My goal is to be a voice for students and teachers,’ she said.
