Ex-Employee Who Reported D.C. Fire/EMS Sex Scandal Arrested

first_imgMetropolitan Police yesterday arrested a former D.C. firefighter who, sources said, told investigators about a sex ring being operated by fire department employees. Darryl Green, 42, of the 1200 block of Longfellow Street in Northwest, turned himself in at 6:30 a.m. yesterday after a warrant was issued for his arrest for indecent exposure. Fire officials said they are taking the charges seriously, and last week Mr. Fenty, Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier and Fire Chief Dennis L. Rubin held a press conference to discuss the investigation. Mr. Green was a sergeant in the fire department until last month, when he resigned after a July 30 incident in which he exposed himself to a female emergency medical technician in the lounge area of Engine 8 at 1520 C St. SE. “This arrest was a result of the quick work by our new internal- affairs task force and interagency cooperation between our hardworking fire and police departments,” Mr. Fenty said. “There is nothing more important than maintaining the public trust and we will continue to work to ensure that our public safety agencies remain departments the residents of the District of Columbia can be proud of.” “The Metropolitan Police Department cannot release the details about the incident that led to Mr. Green being charged,” said spokeswoman Traci Hughes. Miss Hughes declined to say whether the incident Mr. Green was charged in connection with took place while he was on duty. Sources told The Washington Times that during the course of the investigation Mr. Green told officials about sexual misconduct within the department.center_img The officials confirmed that they are looking into claims of sexual misconduct, which could result in criminal charges, but declined to discuss what the claims were. A police spokeswoman said the investigation is ongoing but could not provide further details yesterday. Fire officials last week confirmed that they are also investigating three cases in which female emergency medical technicians say Mr. Green offered them lucrative overtime assignments in exchange for sex. However, a news release issued by Mayor Adrian M. Fenty’s office said Mr. Green was arrested in connection with an event that occurred July 6, 2006. Sources say among the charges Mr. Green made, was that female emergency medical technicians performed sex acts for money on men, including male fire department employees, in the bunkhouses of fire stations since late last year. The prostitution may have also occurred at other locations. The sources say the ring was referred to as “D.C. Fems” – a play on the acronym for the city’s Fire and Emergency Medical Services department.last_img read more

Pep Guardiola: Man City need the perfect game to beat Liverpool

first_img “I think to reach the semi-final would be only the second time in our history. We don’t need to talk about motivation. The way they play in every game shows what they want to do. My team is extraordinary, it’s not comparable to many others, it’s top, exceptional. I will be close to them no matter what happens between now and the end of the season. It’s a joy to be manager of them. “This year and even in the last game we showed we are able to create a few chances in just a few minutes and the opponents know that, too. RELATED STORIES 09/04/2018 “We have to defend better. I don’t want to lose but I was so delighted to lose the way we did (vs Man United on Sunday), the way we played is outstanding, I am so happy.” “We are going to try. We don’t have think about how many we have to score. We have to score the first one and then make a second one and we’ll see where the momentum takes us. Guardiola: “Necesitamos mucho, pero todo puede pasar” Upd. at 18:18 IN SPORT.EScenter_img Manchester City host Liverpool in the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday. They are 3-0 down from the first leg. But coach Pep Guardiola says his team can go through if they play the perfect game. CEST “If we concede, don’t give up. It’s more than 90 minutes. Many times we created a lot of chances in short period of time, we have to be clinical and if we are not clinical then move on to the next one. “I don’t know [if we are mentally damaged by Liverpool and United defeats] but if we are not able to do it, it will be a good lesson for the future. We are going to see it’s a good test. Football is a challenge like life and we are happy to handle it. “Of course to go through you have to make almost the perfect game. Create chances, be clinical, concede few chances. All the conditions have to be almost perfect to go through so we know it’s going to tough but we have 90 minutes and in football everything can happen,” said Pep. Fabio Capello knows the missing piece and Ronaldo’s replacement at Real Madrid

first_imgAdvertisement 8ifNBA Finals | Brooklyn Vs9ywWingsuit rodeo📽Sindre Ee( IG: @_aubreyfisher @imraino ) 6d7usv83Would you ever consider trying this?😱3fdeb2Can your students do this? 🌚Roller skating! Powered by Firework Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has stated that the Los Blancos should go for Mauro Icardi in the next summer transfer window as the proper replacement of Cristiano Ronaldo. The club management of Real Madrid have failed to bring in a prolific goalscorer like the star Portuguese footballer in this summer. That’s why the Spanish side is struggling in La Liga in this season. The Los Blancos were unexpectedly beaten by Alaves with a margin of 1-0. After that shocking defeat Real Madrid are now at the fourth position in the League Table of La Liga.Advertisement According to the former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello, Real Madrid have to bring the Argentine centre forward Mauro Icardi in the next summer. Fabio Capello told,Advertisement  “I am a fan of Icardi, I like him. Real Madrid should make him their priority, because he is the most similar player to Cristiano Ronaldo and is deadly in the penalty box.””He is the player Ronaldo has been in recent years and Icardi is someone who has that movement and feel for the goal.”Advertisement  “He is a specialist in the penalty area, as was Cristiano Ronaldo, and if you put three balls in the area he hits all three. If I were Real Madrid, I would sign him immediately,”Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Juventus from Real Madrid in this summer transfer window with a transfer fee worth £105 million. After some initial problems, Ronaldo is now trying to settle in the Italian club. After his departure, there is a huge void in the attacking third of Real Madrid and they need someone who will score regularly for their side. Mauro Icardi is a prolific goalscorer and the Argentine has proven his worth over the years playing for Inter Milan. Icardi’s contract is going to expire in 2021; but the club management of Inter Milan are planning to extend the contract of the Argentine centre forward till 2023. Real Madrid have to make a big money move to bring in Icardi if the player signs a contract extension now.  Advertisementlast_img read more
